Yes, sure you have it right and not the butter mixture all over!

Here's my recipe I use to melt all the time for a big butter

140g butter, soft
280g caster sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk
a few drops of food coloring (if needed)

1. Melt the butter in a large bowl, until soft. Add half the icing sugar and whisk smooth move.
2. Then add the remaining sugar with a tablespoon of milk.
3. Cream together and add food coloring and mix well.
4. Add the extra icing sugar to thicken the milk or a little more to get more liquid if necessary.

Tell you a whisk or electric mixer Rotary (current). You may, if electrically. You have to move around the bowl and not vice versa. However, if you do not boil, as if someone was a brawl with frosting had paintball gun, you can use the containers, placed in a sink when you beat him. Make sure the sink is dry and the valve is not sticky. Or if you have a large dish is much higher than the height of the frost, it will be, too. Start by making your whipped cream is butter (a little softer real butter is best), after cutting into small pieces first. You have the recipe, so that no detailed information.

Absolutely. I did pierce even by hand with only a fork. To make sure it is good to soft butter.
